Allen Makes Maiden Max

Mark Allen has made his first professional maximum break on day five of the 2016 Betway UK Championship during his second round match against Rod Lawer.

Coming in the seventh frame of the match with the scoreline locked at 3-3, he then compiled the perfect 147 break and celebrated with a double fist-pump as he eclipsed his previous best of 146 made on two ocassions.

As it stands, the break will earn him a £10,000 bonus, including a £5,000 maximum break prize and the £5,000 high break prize.

The maximum is the sixth of the season and the 124th in professional snooker history.
