Earlier this month delegates travelled from Denmark, Poland, Hong Kong, France and across the UK to complete the WPBSA World Snooker Level 2 coaching course at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds. The course was led by Steve Davis OBE, Chris Lovell, Andrew Highfield and Chris Motley.

The course provided delegates with information and tuition on:

  • Today’s world of snooker and the role played by the WPBSA, World Snooker and the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB)
  • How to conduct a snooker lesson
  • Technical differentiation with Steve Davis
  • How to set up a part/full time snooker coaching business
  • How to market yourself as a snooker coach
  • Child protection/safeguarding training (including DBS check)

Steve Davis OBE said: “It was great to see people travelling from around the world and the UK to join the team. We wish them every success in the future developing their coaching skills within their own areas to support the continued growth of our sport.”

Following successful completion of the course, coaches are able to showcase their coaching skills at Cue Zones throughout this season at televised events. They also they have the opportunity to attend free coaching seminars, held at the UK and World Championships.
