One of just ten players to have completed snooker’s ‘triple crown’ events, Shaun’s breakthrough success came at the 2005 World Championship, where he defeated Matthew Stevens 18-16 to become only the second qualifier and second-youngest ever player to capture the title at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre.
At the time of writing he has gone on to capture a further six ranking event titles, including the UK Championship in 2008. He completed a hat-trick of snooker’s top trio of events in 2015 when he raced to a 10-2 victory against Neil Robertson to win the Masters in London.
Away from the table, Shaun is married to his wife Elaine and they have a son called Harry, born in September 2016.
Shaun is also the Chairman of the WPBSA Players Commission formed in 2017, enabling him to represent the views of the WPBSA members at board level.
