Coach Background Information

Details of current coaching activities: I coach in a number of clubs and organisations in Bristol, Bath and North Somerset. These include one-to-ones, pairs and group sessions. My groups cover a wide range of ages and abilities, including players on the autism spectrum and those with learning difficulties, to older adults in retirement accommodation. I also enjoy running tournaments and cue zone sessions – anything to encourage more people to play snooker.

Hobbies and Interests: In addition to coaching, I work in sports development locally. My other hobbies include football and tennis. I also enjoy playing the guitar.

Why did I get involved in coaching? Snooker is a fantastic game to be involved in! It takes a lot of endeavour and gives a lot of joy. I was lucky enough to represent England Universities and then became interested in the technical aspects of snooker. It’s great to see players improve their game through coaching and practice.

A summary of my coaching experience: I started coaching in my local club in 2009. I contacted top coach Dell Hill and spent two days at his snooker farm learning about how to coach the game. The new World Snooker coaching programme appealed to me, so I enrolled in 2011 and successfully completed the course. It taught me a great deal to apply to my own coaching. I’m always looking for opportunities to deliver snooker locally, so please feel free to contact me to find out more.
