Why did you get involved in coaching?

I fell in love with the coaching game when I started to coach my brother Michael to play snooker and he went on to play for Ireland in the 1993 Home Internationals in Blackpool. I then started to coach all over Ireland and coach a number of Irish Champions. In 1997 Terry Griffiths set up an official RIBSA Coaching Foundation in Ireland and I then became a full time coach.

Brief summary of my coaching experience.

1997: Appointed Republic of Ireland National Coach.

1999 – 2000: Appointed Qatar National Snooker Team Coach.

2000: Appointed Republic Of Ireland National Coach.

2002: Graduated as Irish Sport Coaching Tutor in Limerick University.

2003 – 2008: Appointed Technical Director of Qatar Cue Sports.

2008: Appointed Republic of Ireland National Coaching Director.

2009: Appointed EBSA Head Coach.

2011: Qualified W.P.B.S.A. World Snooker Coach.

2013 : Qualified IBSF Snooker Coaching Examiner
