China’s He Guoqiang reached his maiden ranking event quarter-final at the 2023 British Open with victories against Muhammad Asif, Oliver Lines, Barry Hawkins during his rookie season.
At the 2026 World Championship, He defeated Long Zehuang and Jack Lisowski to reach the televised stages for the first time in his career. On his Crucible Theatre debut, He lost out to seven-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan 10-2.
Following a successful debut season he was awarded the ‘Rookie of the Year’ at the 2024 WST Awards and a year later would earn a career-high world ranking to date of 45 at the end of his initial two-year card.
Early Career
He joined the World Snooker Tour for the first time in 2023 after successfully qualifying from Asia-Oceania Q School.
He won six matches in all, culminating in a 4-3 victory against former professional Wang Yuchen in the final round to secure his place.
