Kerde is Q Tour King in Albury
Hassan Kerde defeated Alan McCarthy 4-0 at the Commercial Club in Albury, Australia to win the third WPBSA Q Tour Asia-Pacific of the 2026/27 season.
The 42-year-old compiled breaks of 111, 95 and 61 against McCarthy to win the first Q Tour title of his career on home soil after losing his five previous finals. He is the third different champion of the campaign so far following wins for Vinnie Calabrese in Perth and Mark Canovan in Auckland.
Kerde, who is a former World Seniors Snooker Championship semi-finalist, won through a field of 82 cueists at the event – which was known as the Fred Osbourne Snooker Classic and organised by the Australian Billiards & Snooker Council (ABSC) and Asia Pacific Snooker & Billiards Federation (APSBF).
Consecutive whitewash wins over Muhammad Hassan and Jason Perry put Kerde into the last 16, where he then defeated former Australian Women’s Open finalist Jessica Woods 3-1.
The eventual champion dropped just one further frame en route to the title match as he beat Amol Abdagiri (3-0) and Shaun Dalitz (3-1) to set up a meeting with McCarthy.
Kerde was competing in his second Q Tour final of the season, having lost to Calabrese in Perth back in June. He was in no mood to let the opportunity of victory slip this time, however, as he opened the final with a half-century and completed the 4-0 success with the tournament high break of 111.
