Artemijs Žižins came through the first event of the 2024 Q School to make history as the first ever professional player from Latvia.
Victories over former professionals Iulian Boiko and Mark Joyce saw Žižins set up a final round meeting with Kayden Brierley, who he defeated 4-2 to secure a two-year tour card.
The teenager became European Under-16 champion in 2022, defeating Vladislav Gradinari in the final, and won the Latvian National Championship the following year.
His best run to date on the professional circuit came at the 2026 World Open, where he beat Jamie Jones and Luca Brecel to reach the last 16.
