Ashley Carty successfully qualified for the Crucible stages of the World Championship for the first time in 2020 following victories against Ross Muir, Jimmy Robertson and Robert Milkins, before defeat to Stuart Bingham 10-7 on his debut.
His best run in a ranking event came at the 2023 European Masters in Nuremberg, Germany where he defeated Martin O’Donnell, Joe O’Connor, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh and Ricky Walden to reach the quarter-finals before he fell to a 5-1 defeat at the hands of former world champion Judd Trump.
Amateur Career
At amateur level his achievements include a run to the final of the EBSA European Under-21 Championship in 2013, losing to James Cahill.
In March 2023, Carty defeated Florian Nuessle 5-2 to win the WPBSA Q Tour Play-Off and regain a place on the World Snooker Tour, following relegation a year earlier. He repeated the feat three years later by beating Peter Lines 10-8 to become the first player to come through the WPBSA Q Tour Play-Offs on two occasions.
In April 2026, Carty won the prestigious English Amateur Championship title by defeating Vladislav Gradinari 6-0 in the final.
