Ukraine’s Michael Larkov defeated Wang Xinbo in the final of the 2026 World Snooker Federation (WSF) Junior Championship to gain professional status for the first time.
The teenager will compete on the World Snooker Tour (WST) from the start of the 2026/27 season after beating Wang 5-2 in the title match in Sofia, Bulgaria.
At the age of just 15 he became the 2024 Ukrainian national champion and, just a year later, Larkov defeated former professionals Andres Petrov and Barry Pinches en route to his maiden Q Tour Europe semi-final.
As a result of his WSF Junior Championship success, Larkov made his World Championship debut in 2026 where he lost out to Ross Muir in the first qualifying round.
