Phil O’Kane earned professional status for the first time at the age of 33 by coming through the second event of the 2026 Q School.
Having first entered Q School as a teenager in 2011, the success came on O’Kane’s 14th attempt at the event as he defeated Jamie O’Neill 4-1 in the final round.
In the earlier rounds, O’Kane had defeated former professional Jeff Cundy (4-2) and former English Amateur champion Zachary Richardson in a deciding frame.
