The third annual World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) Players Golf Day took place on Thursday at the Forest of Arden Country Club.
The event was arranged by WPBSA Players, in conjunction with Great Days Golf, and took place on Thursday 2 July with 17 teams represented from across snooker and beyond who competed for bragging rights and a number of prizes.

Among those in attendance at the event were former world champions Ken Doherty, John Parrott and Stuart Bingham as well as a host of other current tour players, former professionals and invited guests.

The round of golf took place on the championship course and included added competitions such as ‘Beat the Pro’ – where PGA professional Hannah Bowen entertained the teams on the 18th ‘party’ hole with music and fancy dress, as well as ‘Longest Drive’ and ‘Hole in One’ challenges.

Finally, the teams returned to the marquee where a host of prizes were awarded to the successful golfers – the Halo team featuring 1997 world champion Ken Doherty, Paul Hamilton, John Adams and David Thorne taking the top prize.
Mark Davis, Chairman of WPBSA Players, said: “The third WPBSA Players Golf Day was another enjoyable day had by all. It’s an event that we hope to grow each year. It gives the opportunity for the players to have a good day and get together with sponsors and partners from the World Snooker Tour. A big thank you to Neil Tomkins and Lisa Bray who put a lot of work into organising the event.”

WPBSA Players would like to thank Great Days Golf, the Forest of Arden Country Club and everyone involved in making the third Golf Day a success.
