Peter Gilchrist defeated Robert Hall 801-252 to win the 2026 World Billiards Vimy Ridge Classic in Winnipeg, Canada.
The level three ranking event was the first part of a double-header in Winnipeg, Canada which will conclude with the PABSA Pan Am Cup on 27-31 August.
A total of 50 cueists competed in the three-day event with former world champion Gilchrist, representing Singapore, embarking on the event as the highest seed.

Gilchrist began with a clean sweep of group stage victories over Canadian opponents before defeating Steve Jones (515-137) and Phil Johnson (730-273) to reach the last four.
Chris Coumbe pushed Gilchrist close in their semi-final contest, scoring the highest break of the match with a 195, but ultimately it was the man representing Singapore who ran out a 421-396 victor to set up a title match meeting with Hall.
Hall had beaten former ranking event winner Dhruv Sitwala in the semi-finals but was unable to compete with Gilchrist in the final as he scored the tournament high break of 360 en route to the title victory.
The World Billiards season continues with the 2026 PABSA Pan Am Cup in Winnipeg, Canada on 27-31 August.
