Gilchrist Completes Canadian Double in Winnipeg
Peter Gilchrist beat Dhruv Sitwala 1,500-972 to win the 2026 PABSA Pan Am Cup and complete a World Billiards double in Winnipeg, Canada.
The PABSA Pan Am Cup success saw Gilchrist lift his second ranking event title of the week in Winnipeg – following victory in the 2026 Vimy Ridge Classic at the same venue.
A field of 40 cueists contested the five-day event which saw Gilchrist, who represents Singapore, arriving as the world number two and top seed.
Four comfortable victories over Canadian opponents saw the former world champion advance from the group stage with ease – notably scoring the tournament high break of 596 in his match against Kevin Augusta, before downing Timothy Fulcher 500-51 in the last 16.
Former Queensland Open champion Karthik Ramaswamy proved no match for Gilchrist in the quarter-finals, losing out by a 800-185 scoreline, and the Singapore representative stormed into the title match courtesy of a 1,002-188 defeat of England’s Ryan Mears.
India’s Sitwala was his final opponent after the two-time ranking event winner had beaten the world number three Robert Hall by a 1,002-525 scoreline in the last four.
Gilchrist once again proved to be too strong, however, firing in contributions of 207, 239, 208 and an unfinished 214 to earn his second title of the week.
